Seminars & Conferences

This area comprises a diverse range of events that bring legal education beyond the classroom, creating spaces where students engage with real-world legal developments, institutions, and professionals.

The Seminars & Conferences area stands at the core of ELSA’s mission—connecting law students with practical experiences, international perspectives, and contemporary legal discussions. Through conferences, webinars, institutional visits, and collaborative projects, we aim to complement academic studies with meaningful, real-life insights.

This year, our events reflected both innovation and collaboration—bringing together students, professionals, and institutions across borders.

Within ELSA The Netherlands, certain events have become true traditions—most notably the Benelux Conference and the Rotterdam Harbour Conference, both of which continue to grow each year and strengthen international collaboration.

Institutional Visit to IDLO & ICMP (The Hague) – offering participants direct insight into international organisations and their practical work.

EU Funding Webinar – exploring decision-making processes within EU institutions and funding mechanisms.

SELS Info Session – informing and engaging students on international ELSA opportunities.

IFP Webinar Days (with ELSA Switzerland) – focusing on cybersecurity and emerging technologies.

Migration Law Webinar (with ELSA Spain) – addressing contemporary legal challenges in migration policies.

ELSA Delegations Info Session – preparing students for international representation opportunities.

Study and institutional visits remain among our most impactful experiences, especially with The Hague serving as a global legal hub.

With institutions such as international organisations and courts located in The Hague, participants were given the unique opportunity to experience law in action. These visits not only deepened academic understanding but also strengthened the connection between theory and practice.
