Engage.

We are thrilled to announce the return of the NMCC for its 5th edition!

This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced and new mooters to showcase their pleading skills and Competition law knowledge within a simulated courtroom setting. Participate in a Local Round organized by your Local Group for a chance to advance to the National Round, hosted by ELSA the Netherlands in partnership with De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek.

We are grateful for De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek’s continued support over the years, helping us make this project a success!

NMCC Participant Testimonials

Let’s get inspired.

Having competed in the NMCC twice over, once reaching the grand finals at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, I can confidently say that it is one of the most rewarding mooting experiences. EU Competition Law is an exciting field, and ELSA the Netherlands picks some of the most interesting issues, offering a steep learning curve.

NMCC cases go beyond straightforward legal analysis and pushes you to think about the larger development of competition and anti-trust. I’ve had a great time competing and would recommend it to any aspiring EU lawyer.

Meet Sreenath

My name is Ioana Pacurar and I am a 3rd year ELS student at Maastricht University. I decided to compete in the NMCC in my second year with 2 other teammates. This competition was a great opportunity as I have gained knowledge on how to plead, answer the judges’ questions and write a concise, organized and logical memorandum. Moreover, it has developed my public speaking, time management, organizational and team player skills as these assets are required for a successful mooting team. Lastly, it has peaked my interest with regard to competition law, becoming one of the fields I am considering in pursuing in the future.

Meet Ioana

The NMCC was an immaculate experience for my team and me, allowing us to dive into the world of EU and Competition Law, while gaining strong mooting skills.

Thanks to the competition, I was able to compete on the local and national level, meet participants from all around the Dutch ELSA network, and plead in the offices of De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek.

I strongly recommend NMCC to everyone who is passionate about expanding their knowledge of European Law, as well legal oracy!
